The brief
Restaurant sites usually fail in the same way: a slideshow, a PDF menu, and no sense of the room. Ayla needed the opposite, a site that reads like the dining room feels and gets a table booked without three taps of friction.
Alternating panels, editorial pacing
Copy and photography trade sides down the page, one idea per panel. The rhythm slows the reader down, which is the point: this is a place you choose, not a form you complete.
Food photographed like it matters
The layout is built around the imagery rather than the imagery being dropped into a template. Warm neutrals, generous margins, and type that stays out of the way of the plates.
Booking is never more than a tap
Contact and reservation routes stay in reach on mobile, where most restaurant traffic arrives, often while someone is already deciding where to eat tonight.
What we built.
Editorial alternating content panels
Photography-led layout for the room and the menu
Cuisine and story sections with a consistent typographic system
Mobile-first reservation and contact routes
Performance pass so the imagery loads fast on mobile data
